Haroche, Wineland awarded a Noble prize in Physics

Recently two scientists cited by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences on Tuesday for a ground breaking experimental methods that enable measuring and manipulation of individual quantum systems.

Their marvelous efforts have enabled this field of research to take steps to building a new type of a super fast computer that will be based on quantum physics. Moreover, the research has also lead to construction of extremely precise clocks that could become the future basis for a new standard of time.
