This Jan. 7, 2014 file photo shows Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton
Kershaw at the end of an NBA basketball game between the Los Angeles
Lakers and Dallas Mavericks in Dallas. A person familiar with the deal
says Kershaw has agreed to a $215 million, seven-year contract with the
Dodgers, a deal that makes the two-time Cy Young Award winner baseball's
first player with a $30 million average salary. The person spoke on
condition of anonymity Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014 because the agreement
had not yet been announced.
