
Assateague State Park
Assateague State Park is situated
on Assateague Island is a barricade island. On the east face of the island is
the exposed scenery of the Atlantic Ocean, with an extensive elongate of coast.
In this summer this is an admired locale for swimming and surfing. On the additional
protected bayside of the island there are opportunities fishing and kayaking.
The island supports a variety of wildlife except is famous in particular for
the untamed horses that ramble the island. The park has campsites, a camp store
and eating services.

Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park
The C&O Canal operated
from 1828-1924 as a haulage route, principally hauling coal alongside the
Potomac River to Georgetown. Hundreds of locks lock houses, and aqueducts, are
still repute as reminders of the canal's role as a carrying system throughout
the Canal Era. The channel follows the way of the Potomac River from
Washington, D.C. to Cumberland, MD.

Gunpowder Falls State Park
Gunpowder Falls State Park
provides locals and visitors with grand opportunities for hiking, fishing,
canoeing, and swimming. Tourist attractions of the park are the Big and Little
Gunpowder Falls on the Gunpowder River. Also situated here is Jerusalem Mill
Historic Village. The restored grist granulate is today the headquarters for
the park and contains a small museum. The grist grate was in function between
1772 and 1961.
