Though the declaration of its elevated pricing and shipping
expenses had thrown numerous for a loop over the previous few days, it emerges that HTC
and Valve's
virtual reality headset,
the HTC
Vive, has proven too tempting for VR enthusiasts to pass up.

has declared via Twitter that the Vive,
which went up for pre-order previous
today, sold 15,000 units in less 10 minutes.
At a least price of US$799 each not including the additional
costs earned by Australian and British consumers, that adds up to approximately
US$12
million in income – envisage what that shape will be once the entire
day is up.
Though the Vive's less luxurious major contestant, the Oculus Rift, has yet to disclose
sell-through numbers since going up for pre-order
in January,
the elevated volume of orders forced the corporation to repulse its delivery
date.
