A warning given by WHO on spread of drug resistant malaria to Burma, Vietnam

Global health officials are taking special measures to fight against the deadliest spread of malaria. It is expected that if necessary measures are not taken on the right time its going to spread in all parts of Vietnam.

The recent report said that this drug resistant strain of the deadliest disease has started to appear in the southeastern Burma and southern and central Vietnam, after it first emerged on the Thailand Cambodia border in 2005. An urgent action was needed  to prevent the reversal of fragile gains made in malaria control in the region according to the statement released in September 27th.
