Pediatricians declared a new direction for depression screening for teens

Peer pressure and use of social media are making teens more vulnerable towards depression and anxiety. This increased rate of risk has led an urge to make a guideline on national level that would make pediatricians able to properly screen teens for depression.

Fifty percent of adolescents with depression are diagnosed before reaching adulthood and as many as 2 in 3 depressed teens don't get any help or care according to the American Academy of Pediatrics.

American Academy of Pediatrics has advised that adolescents should be screened for depression, consigning with the recognized criteria and primary psychologist should contain tools to screen and treat patients with depression.

The whole assessment of pediatrics includes, diagnose and identification of the problem and then treating and managing mental health issue.

Suicide which now has become the second-leading cause of deaths in teenagers, has a very deep link with depression in fact suicide is the first thing that patients with severe depression can think of, as they think it's the only way to release them of their unworthiness.

Proper screening and assessment of adolescents is a very sensitive which needs an international assistance and acceptance
