Scientists have identified a link between High Cholesterol and Breast Cancer

research suggests that statins can bLatest e used to prevent breast cancer as scientists have identified a link between breast cancer and cholesterol. It has been reported that in UK, 7 million people are taking cholesterol reducing drugs with the intention of reducing the risks of strokes and heart attacks. Meanwhile, British scientists say the drugs, cost less than £2 and prescribed for each person, can reduce the risk of breast cancer. A study has shown that breast cancer risk is almost doubled in those women who are with high levels of fat in their blood. Statistical analysis has shown that the risk of breast cancer is greater with the high levels of cholesterol. Though, this is the early stage of the research; but it has been seen that statins is the most widely prescribed drug in UK. Statin is available to those who have 20% risk of suffering stroke or heart attack within the next decade. So, people have a chance to effectively and cheaply reduce the risk of various diseases including heart attack.
